Andover, MA — James M. Delaney passed away at his home on July 20, 2012 with his loving family at his side.
Born in Ashland, Pennsylvania, he studied microbiology earning his bachelor’s degree from the Pennsylvania State University and his master’s degree from the University of Rhode Island. He worked in industry for a number of years as a microbiologist and in regulatory affairs before returning to school to earn his law degree. An expert in the field of regulatory affairs law, he worked and consulted for a number of medical device companies.
Jim loved spending time with his family especially on outings to the beaches of Maine and Cape Cod, always visiting an ice cream stand along the way. He enjoyed working on his home, whether constructing a stone wall or patio or completing a woodworking project. He was an avid sports fan following the Red Sox and his alma mater Penn State football teams. He also enjoyed reading and watching classic movies.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Lynn (Lusignant); two sons: James and his wife Cristin and their son Charles Delaney of Windham, New Hampshire and Matthew Delaney of Brookline, Massachusetts; and a daughter, Caitlin Delaney of Brookline, Massachusetts. Also surviving are his mother Agnes Delaney of Kulpmont, Pennsylvania, and his sister Maria and her husband Alfred Lazar and their children Ian and Shane of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.

Gathering hours will be held in the Charles Dewhirst Andover Funeral Home located at 33 Pearson Street, Andover, on Tuesday, July 31st from 6 to 8 PM.
