Dublin, Ireland — Andover High School teacher, Magdalen “Mag” Cantwell died peacefully April 27 in Beaumont Hospital, Dublin after a year's struggle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gerig's Disease.) She was 66.
Magdalen, a native of Dublin, was a U.S. Citizen who lived and worked in Andover for 20 years. She returned to Dublin last August to live with her family when the disease began seriously restricting her activity.
Donations in her name may be made to the Andover Education Association Scholarship Fund, 80 Shawsheen Road, Andover MA 01810 C/O Kim Lemieux, to the Pan Mass Challenge, or to the charity of one's choice.
ARRANGEMENTS: Mag's many Andover friends will hold a memorial service for her on June 8 at 5 p.m. At the Unitarian Universalist Church, 6 Locke St., Andover followed by a pot-luck supper to which you are invited to contribute and stay to enjoy.
