Louise M. (Moore) Batchelder, 79


Andover — Louise M. (Moore) Batchelder,79, of Tewksbury, formerly of Andover and Danville, VT, passed away on Tuesday, August 28 at Lowell General Hospital after a brave struggle with cancer.

Louise was born, raised and educated in Andover. She was a 1951 graduate of Punchard High School. Louise met the love of her life, David H. Batchelder, at the Batchelder family farm, "Rolling Acres", where she picked strawberries during the summer. They wed on September 6, 1952. She worked at the Andover Savings Bank and also worked for many years as an administrative assistant in the business office at Andover Public Schools and retired from that position in 1984 to work alongside her husband in their real estate appraisal company, Batchelder Associates.

During her time in Andover, Louise was dedicated for years in supporting the success of the Andover Lodge of Elks. Following 63 years of residence in Andover, Louise moved to Danville, VT where she was active with the Danville Ladies Group and was also very involved at her granddaughter’s school, the Good Shepherd Catholic School in St. Johnsbury, VT. Louise more recently moved back to the area to reside in Tewksbury with her daughter, Wanda. Louise’s greatest love was her family and she had an endless supply of love and support for her daughters and granddaughter. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

Louise is predeceased by her husband, David H. Batchelder. She leaves her three daughters, Wanda Batchelder of Tewksbury, Beth Ouellette and her husband Joseph of Howey in the Hills, FL and Alton, NH and Trudie Baker and her husband Jack of St. Johnsbury, VT; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Louise Baker of Worcester and several, nieces, nephews and cousins. Louise is also predeceased by a brother, James Glen Moore.

ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral Service in her honor will be held on Friday, August 31 at 11 a.m. at the West Parish Church in Andover. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Andover. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dewhirst Andover Funeral Home, 33 Pearson Street, Andover.
