North Andover, MA — Victor Paul Brightman, 86, of North Andover, died on February 21, at Lawrence General Hospital. Victor was born in North Andover to the late Victor George and Alma (Lockhart) Brightman. He graduated from Johnson High School, Class of 1946, and was a member of the Trinitarian Congregational Church in North Andover. As a lifelong North Andover resident, Victor will be fondly remembered for his love of a glass of iced coffee and a long conversation with his many friends. He was a machinist for Davis and Furber and Borden Chemical. Later, he was employed for many years by the North Andover School System as a custodian for both the middle school and high school. Victor was an avid New England sports fan, who especially loved to watch the Red Sox.
He was predeceased by his wife, Shirley E. (Scofield) Brightman, and is survived by his children, Donna Gallant and husband, Mike, of Bradford, Sandy Alaimo and husband, Steve, of York, Maine, Paula Sullivan and partner, Matt, of Salem, N.H., Mark Brightman and fiancée, Tammi, of Methuen, and Brian Brightman and fiancée, Denise, of Norwood, Mass. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may call on Friday, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third Street, North Andover. Burial of ashes will be in the springtime at Ridgewood Cemetery in North Andover.
