Newburyport — Thomas T. "Tom" Lyons, teacher and mentor to generations of students at Phillips Academy in Andover died peacefully on October 11, at his home in Newburyport, surrounded by members of his family. The cause was cancer.
Mr. Lyons leaves behind his loving wife, Eleanor F. Lyons; children, John L. Lyons and wife Hannah of Groton, Kathleen M. Fanikos of Andover, David T. Lyons and wife Laurie Vance of Southborough and Joseph C. Lyons and wife Julia Rivellino-Lyons of Deerfield; grandchildren, Rachel and Madeline Lyons; William, Joseph, Louis and Marianne Lyons; Kaitlin, Peter and Jack Fanikos; Thomas and Luca Lyons; siblings John Lyons, Margaret Ford, Sheila King, and the late Richard Lyons.
ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at the Cochran Chapel on the campus of Phillips Academy, Andover on December 1 at 11 a.m., and all are invited.
