Granby,CO — Marie Frances (Cummings) Tasillo, 96, of Granby, Colo., formerly of West Boxford, Mass.; Andover, Mass.; and Simsbury, Conn., died peacefully on February 12, 2013.
Beloved wife of the late J. James Tasillo, she is survived by her children, John James, of Auburn, N.H.; Thomas Joseph and wife, Lynda, of Eagle, Colo.; Paul Francis and wife, Dorothy, of Syracuse, N.Y.; Robert Daniel and wife, Anne, of Abington, Mass.; and Dr. Susan Ann and husband, Fred Thorn, of Granby, Colo. Born on February 19, 1916, in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Mary Theresa and Joseph Francis Cummings and sister to the late Kathryn Broderick. She was a graduate of Mount St. Joseph Academy, Hartford, Conn., Class of 1934.
Marie remained active throughout her life raising her children and especially enjoyed swimming in the ocean. Many generations of children have benefited from her sewing and knitting of clothes, quilts, sweaters, and later prayer shawls for the church. Golfing, gardening, line dancing, bird watching, walks in the park, the grandeur of the mountains, new puppies, and new fallen snow kept her engaged in life. Her bright and optimistic view toward tomorrow inspired all that were fortunate to know her.
