Sidney Adler, 55
BRIGHTON | Sidney Adler, 55, known to friends as Sig, lived a happy and successful life. He died peacefully in his home Friday night, Nov. 2, 2007 of lung cancer, with his wife Janice and daughter Sarah by his side. They were happily married for nearly 29 years.
He leaves a large family and an even larger cohort of friends and colleagues, who will keep him alive in their memories for lifetimes to come. In addition to his wife Janice and daughter Sarah, he leaves his parents, David and Shirley of Hingham; three sisters, Ruth Rosenweig of Andover, Elaine Bresnick and Jane Seiden of Newton; and a brother, Lee Adler of Needham; and many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: The family has established the Sig Adler Lung Cancer Research Fund. The family has requested that all donations be sent to Fund, c/o MGH, Development Office, 165 Cambridge St., Boston, MA 02114. A funeral service was planned for Nov. 6 at 10 a.m. at Temple Ohabei Shalom, 1187 Beacon St., Brookline. The Adler family received visitors at 30 Foster St., Brighton, Wednesday and Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. The Rosenweig family will receive visitors at 19 Burton Farm Road, Andover, Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Robert W. Anderson, 81
STRATFORD, Conn. | Robert W. Anderson, 81, of Stratford, Conn., died on Friday, Nov. 2, 2007 at St. Joseph's Manor Nursing Center after a long illness.
He was the son of the late Annie (Stewart) and Robert W. Anderson Sr., both originally from Scotland.
Anderson was born in Lawrence on Aug. 28, 1926. After graduating from Lawrence High School, he entered the U.S. Navy in 1944 and served as store keeper aboard the U.S.S. Lacerta in the Pacific.
He graduated from Burdett Business College in Boston and began his career in sales and marketing in the railroad industry before moving to Connecticut in 1954. During his career Bob worked for the Erie Lackawanna, Reading and Conrail, retiring in 1988.
He was a Life Member of Lawrence United Masonic Lodge, and a 50-year member of the United Congregational Church in Bridgeport, Conn. where he served on the Board of Trustees and was a Life Member of the Board of Deacons. He had a love for singing and lent his tenor voice to the church chancel choir for several years.
Bob, who will be remembered for his quick wit and love of music and laughter, was the emcee at many affairs at his church and in the transportation industry. He enjoyed theater and sports and remained a devoted Red Sox fan throughout his life. After retirement he became a travel agent and, despite being legally blind for the past ten years, continued to organize many group tours to far away places.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Grace (Littlejohn), with whom he shared 54 years of marriage; his daughters and their husbands, Carol and Russell Bodnar, and Jean and Meindert Anderson-Wormmeester, all of Methuen; and his four grandchildren who were the lights of his life, Ben and Cassie Bodnar and Julia and Liza Anderson; as well as many relatives in Canada.
ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial service celebrating Bob's life will be held at his church on a date to be announced. John J. Bellino III, 57
NORTH ANDOVER | John J. Bellino III, 57, of North Andover, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007 at his residence.
Mr. Bellino, a lifetime resident of North Andover, was born on Dec. 9, 1949 to John J. and Gilda (Triene) Bellino Jr. John graduated from North Andover High School, and graduated from LaBaron School of Hair Design in Lawrence.
John was a devoted son who cared for his loving parents until the end of their days in their home along with his beloved West Highland White Terrier Joey.
John owned and operated Salon DeParis in North Andover for many years and also owned and operated Plaza Cuts in Andover. John also was the caregiver for his mother and father.
He was a floral and landscape designer who enjoyed embellishing his home and garden. He dressed with flair and he lived his life with flair.
Mr. Bellino is survived by his two sisters, Joyce Anne Cardwell Kitelinger of Haverhill and JoAnne M. Fluet of Highland Lakes, N.J. He was the proud godfather to Shon Christopher Cardwell of Methuen, and to Keira Jasmine Cardwell of Arizona. He is also survived by one niece, Rebecca Anne Connolly of Warwick, N.Y., and several grandnieces and nephews.
Above all else he was an individualist who did it his way. John had a heart of gold. He helped those in need and brought a smile to their face. John will be greatly missed by those who knew him and loved him.

Nicholas V. Giata, 86
ANDOVER | Nicholas V. Giata, 86, of Andover, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2007 at the Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill.
Mr. Giata was born in Albania, the son of the late Vangel and Thera (Bochi) Giata.
He had lived in Andover for 70 years and worked for the Town of Andover on the Department of Public Works.
He enlisted in the United States Army in 1942, served during World War II and retired as a master sergeant from the Army in 1976.
While in active duty he served in Normandy, Northern France, and Luzon. He earned a Bronze Service Star, Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon.
Mr Giata was also an avid sports fan who loved the Red Sox and Patriots.
Husband of the late Eveleen (Diamond) Giata, he is survived by his daughter Deborah Giata and her fiance Richard Mills of Haverhill, his sister Mary Giata of Andover, granddaughter Kelly Giata of N.J. and sisters-in-law Helene, Anne and Katherine.

SALEM, N.H. | Ruth Kinney Gould, 76, of Salem, N.H. and formerly of Andover, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007 at the Caritas Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.
Ruth was born in Lawrence, the daughter of the late Nowell and Elsie (Pickels) Kinney.
She was a graduate of Abbott Academy in Andover and of Colby Junior College.
Ruth's life revolved around her family whether it was spending time with them at Big Island Pond in Derry, N.H. or at Lake Winnipesauke or simply spending hours and hours with them enjoying life's simple activities.
She also enjoyed boating, traveling and R.V. traveling and was an accomplished singer and pianist who sang with the Andover Choral Society. She was a past member of the November Club and of the Alpha Phi Ki of South Church in Andover.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 56 years, Richard F. Gould of Salem, N.H. and formerly of Andover; and sons, Dana N. Gould and his fiancee Joanne Marden of Andover and Alan S. Gould and his wife Donna of Rye, N.H. as well as their children, Elizabeth Gould and her fiancee Brian Mensinger of Apopka, Fla. and Joshua Gould of Boston.

ANDOVER | Marguerite (Dorion) Schaaf, 85, of Andover, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007 in the Lawrence General Hospital.
She was born July 29, 1922 in Lawrence, daughter of the late Dr. Kinton F. Dorion and Mrs. Angeline (Tessier) Dorion.
She was a parishioner of Saint Robert Bellarmine Church in Andover.
Marguerite was a graduate of Lawrence General Hospital School of Nursing. Marguerite worked as a Registered Nurse for Lawrence General Hospital for some 17 years.
Wife of the late Mr. Edward Schaaf, Mrs. Schaaf is survived by her sister, Helene T. Dorion of Lawrence; as well as several cousins.

METHUEN | George A. Shanteler Jr., 58, of Methuen, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007 at his home in Methuen.
George was born in Winthrop, and has been a lifelong resident of the greater Lawrence area. He was a 1969 graduate of the Greater Lawrence Regional Vocational Technical High School.
He was employed as a mechanical engineer in the area prior to his retirement.
George enjoyed riding his bike and socializing with his many dear friends.
He is predeceased by his parents, George and Eva (Southall) Shanteler, and a brother, John. He leaves his brothers, David and his wife Carol of Londonderry, N.H. and Paul and his longtime companion Holly Reed of Pelham, N.H.; his sister, Christine and her husband Richard St. Jean of Andover; a sister-in-law, Gerry Shanteler of North Andover; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Donald A. Spinney, 87
ANDOVER | Donald A. Spinney, 87, of Andover, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007 at the Sutton Hill Nursing Center in North Andover.
Born in Andover he was the son of the late Charles and Maud (Verrill) Spinney. Donald was a Corporal in The United States Marine Corps during World War II and served in the South Pacific where he earned a Silver Star and Purple Heart.
Husband of the late Mildred E. (Forsythe) Spinney he is survived by his daughters, Judy S. Perrone and husband John J. of North Andover and Donna E. Hill of Andover. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Stacy, Matthew, Brian, Peter and Kerry; and great-grandchildren, Moly, Jacob and Connor; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Robert L. Sullivan, 87
ANDOVER | Robert L. Sullivan, 87, retired LT. BFD, of Andover, formerly of West Roxbury and Scituate, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007 at the Lawrence General Hospital.
Born in Boston, he lived West Roxbury for many years, then move to Scituate where he lived for 41 years before moving to Andover four years ago.
Mr. Sullivan retired in 1980 as a lieutenant with the Boston Fire Dept. He worked in the fire alarm headquarters for many years.
As a young man he was a drummer with the Holy Name Church Band in West Roxbury.
Mr. Sullivan is survived by his beloved wife, Rita M. (Shephard) Sullivan; his loving children, Rita M. Sullivan of Chestnut Hill, William R. and his wife Anne of Andover, Robert L. Jr. and his wife Lynn of Townsend, John R. and his wife DeeDee of Windsor, Maine, Mary Ellen Sullivan of Englewood, Colo. and Thomas M. and his wife Caroline of Niantic, Conn.; and a dear brother of John R. Sullivan of West Roxbury; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, the late Mary T. Sullivan.

David L. Young, 81
NORTH ANDOVER | David L. Young, 81, of North Andover, died Saturday, Nov. 3 2007 at the his home.
He was born in Stoneham and grew up in Cambridge, the son of the late Leroy and Ruby (Gault) Young.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a teenager and proudly served during World War II.
Mr Young was a dairy farmer and managed the Shattuck Farm in Andover where he lived for many years before moving to North Andover. He also worked and retired as a courier at Phillips Academy in Andover.
After retirement he enjoyed working in his shop at home where he would fix almost anything or do wood working.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley E. (Foster) Young of North Andover; children, William Young and wife Karen of North Andover, Nancy Borden and husband Stephen of Bradford, Diane Young of North Andover, Steven B, Young of North Andover, Mark D. Young of North Andover, and Debbie Fillebrown and husband Dave of Nashua, N.H.; grandchildren, Tiffany Ziriak and husband Guy, Sara Young and fiancee Eric Hartford, Brandon, Ben and Zoe Fillebrown; as well as sisters, Marion Gross of Peabody, Dorothy DuGray of Keene, N.H., Elsie Ransom of Stoughton and Edith Broadeau of Milbury; and several nieces and nephews. Mr Young was also predeceased by his brothers, Donald and Robert Young.

ANDOVER | Janet Ann (Sokoloski) Zembiski, 88, of Andover and formerly of Hatfield, beloved wife of Anthony, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007 peacefully at her home after a long illness.
She was born in South Deerfield, the 12th child of 13 children of the late Adam and Antoinette (Sanicki) Sokoloski.
Janet was educated in the South Deerfield schools. She lived in Hatfield for 63 years before moving to Andover this summer. She was a communicant of the Holy Trinity Church in Hatfield and a long time member of its Woman's Club. She was a homemaker and raised four daughters.
She leaves Anthony, her husband of 67 years; three daughters, Louise and her husband John Caron of Leesburg, Va., Jeanne and her husband Michael Fitzgerald of Andover and Joanne and her husband Charles Tatakis of Dedham; one brother, Anthony Sokoloski of South Deerfield; four grandchildren, James Caron and Robert Caron of Virginia and Sean Fitzgerald and Laura Fitzgerald of Andover; and three great-grandchildren, Dakota Caron, Charley Caron and Anna Caron, all of Virginia. She was predeceased by her loving daughter, Patricia. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: The funeral was Tuesday, 9 a.m. from the Drozdal Funeral Home, Northampton, with a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church. Committal was in Calvary Cemetery in Hatfield. The family received friends from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Beatrice "Bea" Eleanor (Williams) Morreo, 85, died peacefully Thursday, February 2nd, 2012, surrounded by family at her home in Brooksby Village.

She was the wife of the late Daniel Anthony Morreo and she lived in Andover with him for 40 years. Survived by 5 children, Susan Birrell, Gail Bryant, Mark Morreo, Martha Wiley, and Dan Morreo; 10 grandchildren including Christy, Brittany, Joshua, Randall, Molly, Robbie, Heather, Nicole, Ali and Abbey; and one great granddaughter, Ella Grace. She will be missed. -

Linda R. Pytka, age 63, of Andover, passed away on January 30, 2012, after a brave battle against multiple myeloma that lasted over six years.

Born and raised in Worcester, she was the loving mother of three sons, Jonathan, Brendan, and Justin, and the devoted wife of Stephen M. Pytka. Her passing was peaceful, and she was surrounded by her family, who will miss her dearly. Margaret Farrell Kruse, age 82, of N. Andover, MA, formerly of Piscataway, NJ, died on January 28, 2012.

She was born on July 12, 1929 in New York City, the daughter of Michael Henry and Margaret Ruth (Griffin) Farrell. She majored in history at Barnard College, at which time she met her future husband of 60 years, Theodore Kruse. She maintained a life-long interest in history, art and current events, and served on the boards of numerous civic and volunteer organizations. As a member of the League of Women Voters, she studied how the dearth of low-income housing shaped communities and this interested her in zoning issues. This work lead to her being appointed to Piscataway’s Civil Rights Advisory Commission and also the Zoning Board of Adjustments. She was later elected to Piscataway’s Town Council. After moving to the Edgewood Retirement Community in North Andover, she wrote articles for the Edgewood News and served on the Resident Council. -

Jeri graduated from Arlington High School in 1961, held a Bachelor of Arts from (the former) Boston State College and a Master of Arts in Education from Suffolk University. She taught elementary school for several years in Billerica, MA, and became a homemaker after her children were born. -

Bill graduated from Lowell High School in 1943 and attended Harvard College. He was later appointed to the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, from which he graduated in the Class of 1948. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Anna is survived by her children: Robert, Jack (Charlene Cotter), Mary Ann Pavone, David (Linda Magnus), Paul (Meg Davidson), and Alice (John Gordon); grandchildren: Sarah Rubright (Cal), Adam Rokos, Dylan Rokos (Nicole Padgett), Erika Schoell (Michael), Lindsay Rokos (Gerry Snyder), Lauren Williams (David), Kyle Gordon, Timothy Pavone, Kayla Pavone, Katarzyna Rokos, Zachary Rokos & Kymberle Gordon; 5 great-grandchildren: Grace, Gerry, Abby, Xander & Baby Rokos (due February of 2012); several nieces & nephews. Camp who was a 1948 graduate of Phillips Academy; loving mother of 3 and grandmother of 3; dear sister of Edward Dodge, of Andover, MA.
