Thomas P. Christopher, 80
NAPLES, Fla. — Thomas P. Christopher, 80, of Naples, Fla., died suddenly on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007.
He was born on March 15, 1927 in Lawrence to Thomas F. and Helen Christopher and was educated in the Lawrence school system.
He was a long time resident of Andover.
He owned T.P. Christopher & Sons and also operated a school bus for the town of Andover for many years.
An avid golfer, he was a member of Andover Country Club and later at Royal Wood and Wilderness in Naples where he resided.
He was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Seton parish in Naples.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 57 years, Cecelia (Edmunds) Christopher of Naples; sons, Thomas P. Jr. and his companion Dorothy Burnham of Salem, N.H., John and his wife Ellen (Caffrey) Christopher of Andover, and Daniel and his wife Julia (Retelle) Christopher of Andover. He also leaves seven grandchildren, Thomas F. Christopher of California, Jake, Andrew and Sara Christopher of Andover, and Cayley, Erin and Kerry Christopher of Andover; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, William Christopher of Wilmington, Del. and his sister, Mary Bowler of Lawrence.
ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial service was held on Monday, Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. at Fuller Funeral Home, 1625 Pine Ridge Road, Naples, Fla. A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date in Andover. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Michael's Parish Building Fund, 196 Main St., North Andover, MA 01845 or to a charity of one's choice.
Mavis Twomey Cox
ANDOVER — Mavis Twomey Cox, a lifelong resident of Shawsheen Village in Andover, and Great Boar's Head in Hampton Beach, N.H., passed away on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on Oct. 8, 1928 in Andover, to Jeremiah J. and Hilda (North) Twomey. Mavis was educated in the Andover Public Schools, graduated from Abbott Academy in 1946, and received a secretarial degree from the Katherine Gibbs School. She was an active parishioner of St. Augustine's Church in Andover and a member of the Catholic Daughters.
Mavis was employed for 40 years as a secretary in the Andover Public School System. For the first 25 years she worked for the assistant superintendent and in the personnel office. After retiring in 1993, Mavis worked for 15 years for the principal of South School, Dr. Eileen Woods, and enjoyed close friendships with co-workers and being surrounded by children. In 1997 she was recognized by the Boston Globe as an "Unsung Community Hero" for her commitment to education and her enthusiasm and dedication in helping children.
Family was the center of Mavis' life. She was actively involved in the education and extracurricular activities of her children and grandchildren and was very proud of their accomplishments. All of her children received college degrees. Mavis spent many happy summers relaxing at Hampton Beach, and her hobbies included gardening, reading mystery novels, and knitting sweaters for her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and visiting with family members in Texas, Alaska, Colorado, New Mexico, and England.
Mavis is predeceased by her beloved husband of 49 years, George Cox Jr., parents, and brother Gerard Twomey. She is survived by her sister Madge and her husband G. Robert Keepin Jr. of Los Alamos, N.M.; cousin Daphne Higham of Southampton, England; her six children, including daughter Susan and her husband Gordon Whicher of Andover and Houston; son George (Joe) III and his wife Mary of Louisville, Colo.; daughter Lisa of Andover; son Gerald and his wife Cynthia Lemere of Needham; daughter Sara and her husband Jonathan Faulkner of Homer, Alaska; son Michael and his wife Lakshmi of Arlington; 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; many nieces and nephews and their families; and her faithful collie, Molly.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Nov. 16, 2007 at 1 p.m. in St. Augustine's Church in Andover. Burial will follow in the Spring Grove Cemetery, also in Andover. Robert N. Fuller Jr., 72
ANDOVER — Robert Nelson Fuller Jr., 72, Andover, passed away peacefully after a long illness, surrounded by his loving wife and family, on Monday, Nov. 12, 2007 at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Born in New York, May 8, 1935, Robert moved with his family to Massachusetts in 1940, where he grew up and thereafter considered home. Robert married Jane Duryea of Longmeadow, Massachusetts on Sept. 26, 1953. Following his marriage to Jane, Robert received his bachelor's of science degree in engineering management at the University of Vermont.
Robert then served as a lieutenant in the United States Army Ordnance Corps at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina with the 82nd Airborne (All American) Division. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Robert began his career in engineering, while at the same time earning a bachelor's of science degree in electrical engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
After distinguishing himself at Westinghouse in Baltimore, Maryland, where he worked on US Navy radar systems, Robert and his family re-located to Andover to work for ITEK Corporation, where he collaborated on NASA programs, including the Mars Viking, Voyager and Hubble space projects. Following a successful and lengthy career at ITEK, Robert established a private consulting firm.
An avid outdoorsman, Robert hiked all the New England 4,000 foot mountains, skied throughout the US and Europe, bow hunted and was a passionate sailor. He built his own 36 foot sloop, which he named the Galatea, as well as numerous kayaks and canoes.
He is survived by his wife, Jane, daughters Linda Fuller Barry and husband, Robert, of Arvada, Colo., and Susan Fuller Hanson and husband, Myles of North Andover; sons, Col. Peter Nelson Fuller (U.S. Army) and wife, Jane Peel of Springfield, Va. and Jonathan Duryea Fuller and wife, Elaine of Andover; his sister, Francis Fuller Allen of Pasadena, Calif.; grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew, Sarah and David Hanson of N. Andover, Rhea and Graham Fuller of Andover, Robert and John Barry of Colorado and Ian and Margaret Fuller of Virginia.

Beatrice "Bea" Eleanor (Williams) Morreo, 85, died peacefully Thursday, February 2nd, 2012, surrounded by family at her home in Brooksby Village.

She was the daughter of the late Mamie (Lindholm) and Bill Williams. She resided during her childhood years in Middletown, New York. She was the wife of the late Daniel Anthony Morreo and she lived in Andover with him for 40 years. Survived by 5 children, Susan Birrell, Gail Bryant, Mark Morreo, Martha Wiley, and Dan Morreo; 10 grandchildren including Christy, Brittany, Joshua, Randall, Molly, Robbie, Heather, Nicole, Ali and Abbey; and one great granddaughter, Ella Grace. She will be missed. -
Linda R. Pytka, 63
Linda R. Pytka, age 63, of Andover, passed away on January 30, 2012, after a brave battle against multiple myeloma that lasted over six years.

Born and raised in Worcester, she was the loving mother of three sons, Jonathan, Brendan, and Justin, and the devoted wife of Stephen M. Pytka. Her passing was peaceful, and she was surrounded by her family, who will miss her dearly. Linda was formerly a critical care nurse at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, helping others through their difficult times. -

She was born on July 12, 1929 in New York City, the daughter of Michael Henry and Margaret Ruth (Griffin) Farrell. She majored in history at Barnard College, at which time she met her future husband of 60 years, Theodore Kruse. She maintained a life-long interest in history, art and current events, and served on the boards of numerous civic and volunteer organizations. As a member of the League of Women Voters, she studied how the dearth of low-income housing shaped communities and this interested her in zoning issues. This work lead to her being appointed to Piscataway’s Civil Rights Advisory Commission and also the Zoning Board of Adjustments. She was later elected to Piscataway’s Town Council. After moving to the Edgewood Retirement Community in North Andover, she wrote articles for the Edgewood News and served on the Resident Council. -

The beloved wife of John "Jack" Magee, the couple was married on February 19, 1972 in Arlington, MA and subsequently moved to Andover, MA where they raised two children. Jeri graduated from Arlington High School in 1961, held a Bachelor of Arts from (the former) Boston State College and a Master of Arts in Education from Suffolk University. She taught elementary school for several years in Billerica, MA, and became a homemaker after her children were born. -

He was the third of their five children; his two brothers, James Francis, Jr. of Lowell, MA and John Keegan of Lawrence, NY, and his two sisters, Isabelle Ann Yardley of Needham, MA and Ellen Mary of Lowell, all predeceased him. Bill graduated from Lowell High School in 1943 and attended Harvard College. He was later appointed to the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, from which he graduated in the Class of 1948.
