Raymond E. Lewis, 80

Dublin, CA — Raymond E. Lewis (Buster) died Nov. 21, 2013, at the age of 80 at the Kindred Care Home in Livermore, California. Ray was born in North Andover, Massachusetts on January 2, 1933, to the late Raymond Edward and Elizabeth Irene Lewis. He is survived by his wife, Judy Goen-Lewis and his daughters, Carol Ann Cohn and Irene Elaine Lewis. He is also survived by his grandsons, Aaron and Matthew Cohn and Canyon Lewis; his granddaughters, Misty-Dawn Sundseth and Iris LewisThorne and his great-granddaughter, Lillian Jules Sundseth. Buster was an avid fisherman and skin diver for most of his life and he was the President of the Richmond Pelicans for many years. Buster also enjoyed once a month gambling trips to Tahoe where he played blackjack and used the birthdates of his grandchildren to play keno. He was proud to say he often broke even. Buster was also a mechanical engineer who was incredibly handy. Every vehicle he purchased he made sure to convert to have a bed. In this way he could take road trips and he could sleep wherever he wanted.

A memorial will be held December 14, in Monterey, Calif., where his beloved ocean will carry his ashes out to sea.
