O'Donoghue possesses experience, intellect

Editor, Townsman:

Direct and to the point — please vote for Mary O’Donoghue for selectman.

I have been a friend and a colleague of Mary’s for well over 20 years. She is one who speaks directly and to the point, and that is exactly what this community needs.

I have witnessed Mary’s complete dedication and service to the Town of Andover as a member of the Finance Committee, a critical asset as a candidate for selectman. These are challenging financial times and those whom we elect to make decisions on our behalf must have a comprehensive understanding of the financial workings of the town in order to be effective.

As a member of the Northeast Association of Realtors, Mary has served in many leadership positions, most recently as the 2012 president of the organization and in 2013 as its treasurer. These elected and unpaid positions devour hours of personal time, but this is who Mary O’Donoghue is. She makes commitments and she keeps them, and she is prepared to commit her time and her experience to the people of Andover.

It is not possible to be in a decision-making capacity and keep everyone happy. Without hesitation, I know that Mary O’Donoghue has the intellect to understand the complex, the experience to address difficult circumstances and the absolute fortitude to stand on a position.

Public service is not for everyone — but it is for Mary O’Donoghue. Please join me in supporting her candidacy in the upcoming selectman’s election.
