Fiscal acumen sets O'Donoghue apart

Editor, Townsman:

As many know, I am leaving after 13 years as selectman, but what they may not know is that Mary O’Donoghue is running.

Mary has served on Andover’s Finance Committee for 12 years and has in-depth knowledge of the financial challenges facing the town. There are many important issues before Andover this year: the disposition of the town yard, renewal of our collective bargaining agreements and the possible future expansion of the high school, among others.

Andover’s next selectman should be able to analyze and define the best possible outcomes of these projects without missing a beat. Mary has the financial acumen this position requires and will bring disciplined expertise to Andover’s future fiscal decisions. She is a great listener and an independent thinker and is not afraid to stand her ground.

I hope voters will join me in supporting Mary O’Donoghue on Tuesday, March 25. We will all be voting at the high school.

Mary Lyman
