I would like to thank outgoing Selectman Mary Lyman for her many years of selfless and dedicated work on behalf of the people of Andover as outlined in the March 27 issue of The Townsman.
While I was pleased and nodding in agreement with her call for more respect in civic dialogue, I was shocked and disappointed with her casual claim that “a local attorney once attempted to bribe her.”
If this happened, she should have reported it. As a local attorney who often represents clients before town boards, it is unfortunate that she has cavalierly put so many of us under such a cloud and to cause further disrespect of attorneys.
