The Andover Townsman

It is interesting to finally see the “media” concerned with constitutional rights. For too long, the media has been predominantly anti-gun; perhaps now that will begin to change. The American people have to be re-taught the contents of the U.S. Constitution.
Without question the founding fathers thought the protection of rights in the First Amendment to be the most important and then there is the Second Amendment, which allows the people the right to bear arms so as to defend themselves should their government begin overreaching its authority. Many people say that it could never happen here, but ask the Associated Press reporters what they think of that.
It’s time that the media highlight the Constitution as it was written and its original intent, as opposed to the courts’ all-too-frequent reinterpreting of it. The people need to be reminded of that original intent because that is what our founding fathers fought for. That is the birthright of all Americans as well as the right of all those who become Americans
