Youth gave fresh face to Historical Society
Editor, Townsman:
on behalf of the board of directors of the Andover Historical Society, I would like to acknowledge the youth volunteers from the Summer Volunteer Program of the South Church. For three mornings this summer, they, accompanied by counselors and chaperones, worked painting the fence in the front of the Amos Blanchard House. They withstood the heat and were pleased with what they did, as we were.
It is gratifying to see young people doing projects of community service, offsetting the bad things we read about in the daily news. Apparently, this was only one of the many volunteer jobs this program was involved in this year. We would like to invite the people of Andover to come to our building at 97 Main St., and see what a wonderful job these young people accomplished.
