Fifth-grader: Please give teachers a new contract
Editor, Townsman:
My name is Aislinn McMahon. I am a fifth-grader at Sanborn Elementary School at 90 Lovejoy Road. Please give the Andover Public School teachers a contract.
Did you know that Andover was in 11th place for the Massachusetts Public School ranking and we dropped all the way to 38th place? That might not matter a lot to you, but it sure matters a lot to me.
My teacher is Mrs. Crowley. She is the nicest teacher you can ever ask for. She comes out of a "time machine" dressed up as Scientist Suzie, Reporter Rhonda, Doctor Dialogue, Geography Ginger, Viking Vicky, and many more! She can't correct our Blood on the River entries, our book reports, and tests, and trust me that is like the end of the world because she gives a lot of homework.
But that is one of the reasons why I love her, because she doesn't care who you are, boy or girl. She just wants to be our teacher because she loves our class. It's not fair to the students because they are getting less individual attention that they need or the teachers because they want to teach. All because of the "Contract Now" thing!
My teacher is 100 percent loyal, kind and caring. The teachers aren't asking for much. Please give them a contract.
