North Andover seniors thank running club

The Andover Townsman

---- — Editor, Townsman:

The July 4th Road Race has returned to the Town of North Andover in full force as an event for all ages. After a hiatus of several years, the Borderline Running Club had a vision for a successful and profitable event. Each and every individual represented themselves with determination, organization and professionalism.

The return of the race to the town far exceeded everyone’s expectations. More than 700 runners of all ages, including 100 children, literally hit the ground running. More than 100 volunteers organized the event; manned registration tables and water stations; and welcomed runners and spectators in support of the cause. This was a true celebration of the holiday, as well as community.

We are sincerely grateful to the Borderline Running Club, which chose to partner with the Friends of the North Andover Senior Center, a not-for-profit organization, as its beneficiary. The Friends of the North Andover Senior Center is a registered 501(C)(3) that relies on philanthropic efforts and fundraising to provide the seniors in our community with quality services and programs.
