What if you could help prevent even one of your family members, neighbors, or friends from hearing the words, “you have cancer”?
Thanks to a partnership between Lowell General Hospital and the American Cancer Society, everyone will have the opportunity on Oct. 3 by participating in an historic study that has the potential to change the face of cancer for future generations. Men and women between the ages of 30 and 65 who have never been diagnosed with cancer (not including basal and squamous cell skin cancer) are invited to participate in the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3), which is enrolling up to a half a million people across the United States.
Enrollment is free and will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 3, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 3 to 7:30 p.m. in Lowell General Hospital’s Clark Auditorium on the main campus at 295 Varnum Ave. at the Conference Center entrance. Parking is free.
To schedule an enrollment appointment, visit cancer.org/cps3NE or call toll free 1-888-604-5888. Walk-ins are also accepted.
Participants will be asked to complete a comprehensive survey packet and give a small blood sample. The in-person enrollment process takes just 20-30 minutes, and later the Society will send annual study updates and results. You can make a difference.
