Austin Preparatory School senior Brendan Burke was recently named a Catholic Central League All-Star for his role on the spring track team. Burke was the League Champion in the shot put with a throw of 49 feet, 1.5 inches on May 22. Last fall, Burke was part of the Superbowl Champion football team, and was one of only 51 players from north of Boston selected for the Shriner's Football game in June. He was named co-MVP of the Catholic Central League for track this winter. Burke is the son of Terry and Melissa Burke of Andover.
Austin Senior Anya Sokolova, also of Andover, was named the Most Valuable Player for girls lacrosse. She was also named a Catholic Central League All-Star. An Eastern Mass and CCL All-Star in soccer, Sokolova was selected to play in the Agganis Classic soccer game this summer. She is the daughter of Sergei and Svetlana Sokolova of Andover.
