Vince Camin won the 100 breaststroke in 1:01.45 at the MVC Swimming and Diving championship last Friday. Andover took second as a team with 311 points.
The other title went to the 200 medley relay in 1:44.97, a team consisting of Camin, Joe Carroll, Max Blanch and Santi Alegria. Camin added a second in the 200 IM and Eric Shi was second in the 500 freestyle.
Alois notches hat trick
Veronica Alois had a hat trick and Jess Leone and Caroline Hughes stood out with two goals apiece as Andover blasted Boston Latin 8-0 on Saturday. Laura Morissette added the other goal for the winners.
Weezie Gross and Veronica Alois each scored a goal, as Andover played Billerica to a 2-2 tie last Wednesday, Jan. 29. Brianna Deloury, Jacquelyn Leone and JoJo Olson each assisted on a goal for the Warriors.
Perry, Warriors roll
Led by 19 points from E.J. Perry IV, Andover beat Methuen 64-53 on Saturday. Connor Merinder scored 15 points, birthday boy Ben Brown scored seven points and David Giribaldi had 12 points for the winners.
E.J. Perry IV scored 10 points to help Andover edge Billerica 56-63 last Friday. David Giribaldi scored 16 points, Ben Brown chipped in with nine points and John Pisacreta had seven for the winners.
Despite 18 points for David Giribaldi, Andover fell short to Lowell 55-52 last Tuesday, Jan. 28. Connor Merinder added 13 points and E.J. Perry IV had 10 for the Golden Warriors.
Caveney keeps surging
Colleen Caveney scored 21 points to help Andover roll over Lawrence 61-32 last Friday. Jessica Witten scored 11 points and Alyssa Casey and Rachael Cormier had eight points apiece.
Jessica Witten scored 20 points as Andover eased past CAC power Whittier 72-50 last Thursday, Jan. 30. Rachael Cormier added five points in the spread-out attack.
Colleen Caveney continued to roll with 16 points to lead Andover to a 47-33 drubbing of rival Lowell last Tuesday, Jan. 28. Alyssa Casey added 10 points for the Warriors.
Jake Tarricone scored sixth overall in 21.18 as Andover rolled past Haverhill 117-18, but fell to Masconomet 92-43 last Tuesday, Jan. 28.
Despite a fifth-place finish by Jake Tarricone, Andover lost to North Andover (76-59) and St. John’s Prep (111-24) last Thursday.
Courtney Carver took wins in the vault and was second in the all-around to help Andover score 145.05 to sweep North Andover (141.75) and Westford (140.85) last Wednesday, Jab. 29. Jessie Livingston added a win in the bars and was third in the all-around.
Chen takes win
Kevin Chen took the 55-meter hurdles (6.8) and Alex Bensley won the 2-mile (10:46.1) to lead Andover to a 49-37 win over Central Catholic last Wednesday, Jan. 29. Jeremy Travaglini took the 300 and Sebastian Silveira won the 600 for the Golden Warriors.
McCarroll takes win
Despite a win in the high jump by Casey McCarroll and in the 300 by Michelle Gencorelli in the 300, Andover lost to Central Catholic 50-36 last Wednesday, Jan. 29. Hannah Ameen won the 55-meter dash and Lizzie Kobelski won the 55 hurdles for the Warriors.
Ganley takes first
Julia Ganley earned her first overall victory of the season in 21.25 to lead Andover past Manchester Essex 84-51 and Haverhill 125-10 last Wednesday, Jan. 29. Olivia Lawler added a 10th and Jackie Drew was 12th for the winners.
Meagher earns pin
Patrick Meagher earned a pin at 120 pounds in 0:45 as Andover lost to Haverhill 57-12 last Wednesday, Jan. 29. Tyler Ferris continued to roll with a win at 126 pounds in 22 seconds.
Joseph Aronov won all but one event and took the all-around with a 47.7 to lead Andover past Burlington 169.2-163.0. Brian McDonough added a third in the vault and Dan Harvey was third in the rings for the winners.
Querci goal for naught
Matt Querci scored one goal and assisted on another, but Andover lost to Tewksbury 6-2 this past Saturday. Steven Schuhwerk scored the other Warrior goal.
Will Sauerbrunn scored a goal, but Andover lost to Acton-Boxboro 7-1 last Wednesday, Jan. 29.
