Girls lacrosse
Ally Fazio scored two goals and assisted on two more as Andover topped powerhouse Longmeadow, which has played in seven straight Division 1 state title games, 10-8 on Saturday.
Scoring two goals each for the Golden Warriors, who outscored Longmeadow 7-3 in the second half, were Anne Farnham, Weezie Gross and Meagan Keefe. Charlotte Lenes and Mackenzie Billings each had one goal and Jill Beucler made eight saves for the winners.
Andoverite honored as Blue Crew wins NEWMAC Championship
For the second consecutive season, Wellesley College can lay claim to the NEWMAC Rowing Championship.
The Blue's varsity eight edged out second-place Coast Guard in collecting their third overall title at the 2012 league championship on Lake Quinsigamond recently. The Blue also picked up the Florence Smith Jope Cup, given annually to the team with the most overall points during the four championship events.
