Westfield, N.J. proved to be a sweet place to compete for the YMCA's ANA Synchers, according to the team.
This synchronized swim team from the Andover/North Andover YMCA competed against 27 teams from a quarter of the country in the East Zone Junior Championship. Not only did the Synchers take home the silver medal for the team routine, they placed two solos in the finals, one duet in the top 10, received a silver and bronze for trios and finished the event placing second in overall points, according to the team.

Team: Silver, featuring Jessica Mancini, Sheila Cremin, and Candace Ju of Andover, Laina Gray, Caitlyn MacGregor, and Alice Rodgers of N. Andover, Jenny Flanagan of Boylston and Janine Kopeski of Sterling.
Trio: Silver for Caitlyn MacGregor, Jenny Flanagan and Jessica Mancini; Bronze for Laina Gray, Candace Ju and Alice Rodgers.
Duet: Laina Gray and Janine Kopeski placed in the top 10.
Solo: Gillian Brassil of Andover and Jennifer Flanagan of Boylston placed in the finals. Gillian was also named to the 13-15 East Zone All Star Team.
Jessica Mancini of Andover also placed third in figures.
