Grygiel, girls soccer stay unbeaten

Veronica Alois continued to dominate with a hat trick to give Andover a 3-1 win over Dracut last Thursday, Sept. 19. Emily Wilson made four saves for the Warriors.


Courtney Grygiel scored two goals to help Andover roll past Tewksbury 4-0 last Tuesday, Sept. 17. Emily O’Hara and Veronica Alois each added a goal and Emily Wilson and Emily Masterson each made a save to combine for the shutout in net.


Courtney Grygiel scored a goal, but the go-ahead score was disallowed by officials and Andover played Winchester to a 1-1 tie last Saturday. Emily Wilson had six saves.


Stein, Kenyon lead wins

Denise Stein notched 10 kills to help Andover best Tewksbury 25-8, 25-17, 25-12 on Monday. Mackenzie Kennedy had four digs and Rachel Schnakenberg added four blocks for the winners.


Sarah Kenyon scored team-bests in assists (21) and aces (6) for Andover in a 25-10, 25-9, 25-9 drubbing of Billerica last Friday, Sept. 20. Wyllie Boughton added six kills for the winners.


Rachel Schnakenberg notched a team-best 13 kills and added two blocks as Andover beat rival Haverhill 25-19, 25-14, 13-25, 25-11 last Tuesday, Sept. 17. Sarah Kenyon added six aces and Azita Bakhtyari tallied 37 assists for the winners.


Shutting out Fenwick

Brenna Keefe scored two goals to lead Andover past Bishop Fenwick 4-0 on Monday. Weezie Gross added a goal and an assist and Mikayla Panneton closed out the scoring with goal. Nicole Schena made two saves for the shutout.


Jessica Leone scored a goal and Jackie Leone added an assist as Andover topped Haverhill 4-0 last Wednesday, Sept. 18. Christine Aumais, Tori Roche and Mikayla Panneton each added a goal and Julia LeBlanc and Weezie Gross each had an assist for the winners.


Andover fell to Central Catholic 1-0 on Saturday.


Andover rallies for win

Victor Guery and Edgar Mauge each scored second-half goals for Andover in a 2-1 victory over Dracut last Thursday, Sept. 19. Alex Gray assisted on both goals and Mike Weber made six saves in the win.


Matt Kelly scored a goal, but Andover lost to Danvers 2-1 last Saturday. Raini Huynh assisted on Kelly’s score.


Burke, Scarpa star

Ryan Burke scored a 3-and-1 victory and Nick Scarpa added a 4-and-3 win as Andover topped Chelmsford 12-8 last Thursday, Sept. 19. Tim Awiszus, Colleen Caveney and Hunter Guidoboni also scored wins for the Golden Warriors.


Tim Awiszus scored a win, but Andover fell to Central Catholic 14-5 last Wednesday, Sept. 18.


Starkweather takes three

Morgan Starkweather won the 200 freestyle (2:10.15) and swam the first leg of the winning 200-freestyle and 400-freestyle relays as Andover handed Central Catholic its first loss of the season, 113-73 last Saturday. Maeve Awiszus added wins in the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke and Shannon Fitzsimmons swam on both winning relays.
