Gross, girls lacrosse red hot



Webster earns revenge

Paige Webster avenged her only loss of the season, rallying back from a first set loss to take No. 3 singles 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 to help Andover best Lincoln-Sudbury 3-2 on Friday. Julia Alagero and Laurie-Maude Chenard won top doubles and Pooja Mukund and Karena Yan took No. 2 doubles.

Samantha Camilo won No. 1 singles and Rachel Holzman took No. 2 singles for Andover in a 5-0 win over Chelmsford on Monday. Julia Alagero and Laurie-Maude Chenard won top doubles.


Bendetson rolls

Austin Bendetson took No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-2 to lead Andover past Chelmsford 4-1 on Monday. Varun Penamatsa added a win at No. 2 singles and Sebastian Boulas and Drew Rooks teamed to win No. 1 doubles.


Leary a force

Meg Leary was 2 for 2 with three RBIs and a run scored as Andover won a shootout, holding off Lawrence 19-14 on Friday. Lizzie Kaufman drove in two runs and scored two more, Laura Ippolito and Eugenie Moffitt each scored three runs and Amy Stankiewicz scored two runs and was the winning pitcher.

Eugenie Moffitt had a hit and scored a run, but Andover dropped an 8-3 decision to Lowell on Monday. Lea Giacchetto also had a hit and scored for the Warriors.

Meg Leary recorded two hits and scored twice, but Andover lost to Haverhill 10-8 last Wednesday. Eugenie Moffitt added two hits and Tori Roche scored twice for the Golden Warriors.

Jordan Day had two hits and scored two runs but a late Andover rally fell short and the Golden Warriors lost to Masconomet 9-8 last Tuesday. Amy Stankiewicz added a hit and two RBIs for the Warriors.


Bakies big in win

Jon Bakies recorded 13 kills and three blocks and Alec Dean continued to surge with 17 kills and three aces as Andover rolled over Billerica 25-15, 25-13, 25-18 last Tuesday. Kyle Surehan chipped inn with 12 service points and T.J. Norton added 36 assists for the winners.

Alec Dean notched 22 kills and 20 service points, but Andover dropped a heart-breaker 24-26, 16-25, 25-21, 25-20, 16-14 to Lowell on Saturday. Kyle Surehan added 27 digs for the Warriors.

Despite 10 service points and three aces for Ryan Tjalsma, Andover fell to state power Lawrence 25-20, 25-17, 25-18 on Friday. Kyle Surehan added 12 digs and Alec Dean had 11 kills for the Warriors.
