Atwood scores trio for Northeast soccer

Nick Atwood of Andover was co-captain of the Northeast soccer team in the Bay State Games last month, scoring three goals.

This is the second summer the 16-year-old Atwood, who will be a junior at Andover High School this fall, has competed in the Bay State Games Soccer Showcase. He played center-mid and forward on this region’s district team coached by Vinnie Musto. The team ultimately lost in the bronze medal round with a final record of 1-2-3.

Atwood will rejoin his U.S. Soccer Development Academy team — the FC Greater Boston Celtic Bolts — as a defender for the coming school year.
