Eight-year-old Gabriella Bresnick of Andover won the first place all-around title at the Massachusetts Level 4 Gymnastics State Championship competition last month at Holyoke Community College.
Gabriella started the meet on floor with a 9.450, earning her third place. Her next events were the vault, bars and then beam. She had the state’s best score on vault, with a tally of 9.20, and scored a 9.30 on beam and 9.15 on bars.
Secondary to her consistency, athleticism and grace, she won the all-around Massachusetts state title, earning an overall score of 37.10.
Gabriella practices at Reading Gymnastics Academy in North Reading. The level 4 gymnastics team placed second as a team in the state against 50 other gymnastics clubs. She has been a big contributor this year to the success of the entire Reading Gymnastics Level 4 team, her coaches say.
The daughter of Lou and Marlena Bresnick, Gabriella attends Sanborn School in Andover. Her parents as well as her siblings, Jessica and Jamison, are very proud of her accomplishments.
