Deloury grand slam leads big baseball win

Andrew Deloury smashed a second-inning grand slam, and scored two more runs to pace Andover in a 13-3 drubbing of Methuen on Monday. Tim Awiszus added two doubles and three RBIs, Nathaniel Giammasi also drove in three runs, Cam Farnham chipped in with three hits and Frank Potts plated two runs for the winners.

Sam Bennett came up huge, allowing just three hits and not walking a batter in a complete-game effort to lead Andover to a 7-0 victory over Newton North on Saturday. Cam Farnham continued to swing a big bat with three hits, including a triple, and scored twice and Jack Cox added two hits for the winners.

Cam Farnham was 3 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored as Andover rallied for two runs in the sixth to beat Dracut 5-4 last Tuesday. Tim Awiszus added two hits and Alex Brickman scored one run and drove in another for the winners.

Despite two hits for Nathaniel Giammasi, Andover fell to Haverhill 4-1 last Wednesday. Jack Cox also had a hit for the Warriors.

Relay takes victory

Mike Maldari, Robert Perry, Demetrius Kostakis and Max Galat team to win the 4x800 in 8:29.54 to lead Andover at the Nashua North Invitational on Saturday. Hamza Naveed earned the Golden Warriors’ other victory, taking the 400 in 51.56, and Joe Vetere was third in the pole vault with an 11-0.

Soucy leads the way

Micaela Soucy was second in the 100 in 13.20 and teamed with Rachel Annino, Natalie Wagner and Sydney Gillis to win the 4x100 in 51.81 to pace Andover at the Nashua North Invitational on Saturday. Lizzie Kobelski was third in the 100 hurdles (16.70), Abbie Pustis was fourth in the 200 (27.73) and Sarah Rothmann won the freshman-sophomore mike (5:26.86) for the Warriors.

Padykula battles for victory

Arun Padykula fought for a 6-2, 7-5 victory at No. 1 singles to lead Andover to a 5-0 win over Chelmsford on Monday. Drew Rooks added a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles and Sebastian Boulas won No. 3 singles 6-0, 6-0 for the Warriors.
