Cormier is Fortnight Player of Week
Rachel Cormier of the Andover High School girls basketball team is this week’s Player of the Fortnight Award winner.
Coach E.J. Perry describes Cormier as “by far our most improved player.”
“Last year, Rachel played both JV and varsity. Now, as our point guard starter, she’s averaging eight points and six assists a game, and she gets all of her teammates involved. She’s a fine leader, she plays great defense and she’s very respected by her teammates. We’re looking forward to a great rest of the season from Rachel”.
The weekly Player of the Fortnight Award is presented by Ronald R. Hill of Baystate Financial in Andover. It recognizes members of the Andover High girls and boys varsity basketball teams.
Spotlight on backyard ice rinks
Are you or your family so devoted to ice skating you’ve built your own backyard rink? Has it made you the envy of your neighborhood or simply become your own winter recreational spot?
We’re looking for people to share their backyard rinks with us for an upcoming story. We’re hoping to learn what goes into creating and maintaining a rink as well as the joy that comes with having one’s own private skating surface just out their back door.
We’d like to spotlight some outdoor rinks located in Andover as well as North Andover in an upcoming piece in The Andovers magazine, published by The Townsman’s parent company, North of Boston Media Group.
Anyone who is open to sharing their rink stories with us is encouraged to email email@example.com.
