Kobelski keeps dominating
Cassie Kobelski took second in the shot put at the MSTCA Elite Invitational at the Reggie Lewis Center with a throw of 38-1 on Sunday. Andover also took thirds in both the boys 4x200 relay (1:34.0) and the girls 4x800 relay (9:44.42).
Abby Putsis won the 300 (39.8) and ran on the winning 4x400 relay as Andover bested Central Catholic 53-30 last Wednesday. Adding victories for the Warriors were Sarah Rothman (2-mile), Leila Aruri (mile), Courtney Comeau (50 hurdles) and Cate Donovan (1,000).
Alois scores two
Veronica Alois scored two goals and assisted on another as Andover rolled over Boston Latin 5-1 last Wednesday. Mary Latona, Meghan Leary and Caroline Hughes each also added a goal for the winners.
Joseph Aronov won the floor (6.5), took second in the vault (8.7), high bar (5.6), pommel horse (5.6), rings (6.5) and all-around (38.6) as Andover took first with 150.2 points, beating Nashua South (107.9) and Nashua North (105.5) on Monday. Brian Manning scored wins in the other five events and all-around.
Brian Manning swept every event, including first in the all-around with a 49.2 as Andover downed Lowell 140-129 last Thursday. Evan Igoe added seconds in the pommel horse and floor and Joseph Aronov was second on the high bar for the winners.
Organisciak sprints to win
Cole Organisciak won the 50 dash in 5.8, but Andover fell to Central Catholic 45-41 last Wednesday. Max Galat took the 2-mile, Hamza Naveed won the 600 and Rob Perry took the 1,000 for the Warriors.
Dowden red hot
Sam Dowden exploded for 32 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Andover blasted Chelmsford 65-52 last Tuesday. Max Silveira added 12 points and Chris Dunn had 11 points for the winners.
Max Silveira and Chris Dunn each scored 11 points, but Andover lost to archrival Central Catholic 64-51 on Saturday. Jack Konevich added a pair of 3-pointers for the Golden Warriors.
