Awiszus, Kim keep swimming unbeaten

Maeve Awiszus won the 200 freestyle (2:01.13), the 100 freestyle (56.65) and swam on the winning 200 freestyle relay to lead Andover past archrival Haverhill 101-86 last Friday in a battle of unbeaten teams. Soojin Kim continued to star, joining Awiszus on the winning relay and taking the 200 IM and 500 freestyle for the Golden Warriors.


Soojin Kim scored victories in the 50 freestyle (27.04) and 100 freestyle (59.19) and swam on the winning 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays as Andover held off pesky Belmont 101-84 last Wednesday, Sept. 25. Emilee Nason added wins in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle and Maeve Awiszus took the 100 backstroke and swam on the winning 400 freestyle relay.


Weber, Silveira lead win

Mike Weber made four saves for a shutout as Andover topped Central Catholic 3-0 last Tuesday, Sept. 24. Sebastian Silveira, Declan Collins and Edgar Mauge each scored a goal and Kyle Surehan had an assist for the winners.


Amit Deliwala’s first-half goal gave Andover a 1-1 tie with Lowell last Thursday, Sept. 26. Sam Kelly assisted on the goal and Mike Weber had seven saves for the Warriors.


Alois nets four

After being held off the score sheet for the first time this season two days earlier, Veronica Alois bounced back with a whopping four goals, giving her 12 in seven games, as Andover crushed Lowell 8-1 last Thursday, Sept. 26. Lily Puccia scored one goal and assisted on three others and Emily O’Hara, Maddy Pollack, and Meredith Van Antwerp each added single goals for the winners.


Despite 18 saves for Emily Wilson, Andover suffered its first loss of the season, falling to Central Catholic 5-0 last Tuesday, Sept. 24.


Kennedy, Warriors rule

Mackenzie Kennedy scored 22 service points and Chelsea Hu had 10 kills as Andover beat Masconomet 25-13, 25-10, 25-6 on Monday.


Behind eight kills for Rachel Schnakenberg and 22 assists and four aces for Azita Bakhtyari, Andover bested Central Catholic 25-8, 25-12, 25-11 last Friday. Amy Stankiewicz added four aces and Chelsea Hu had three digs for the winners.


Mackenzie Kennedy scored team-highs in aces (nine) and digs (10) for Andover in a 25-8, 25-6, 25-15 drubbing of Lowell last Wednesday, Sept. 25. Chelsea Hu added 10 kills and six aces and Azita Bakhtyari had 23 assists for the winners.


Smith, Gibson lead the way

Brianna Smith and Emily Gibson each scored twice as Andover rolled over Dracut 7-0 on Saturday. Mikayla Panneton, Christine Aumais and Jacqui Leone (two assists) added single goals for the winners.


Mikayla Panneton scored one goal and assisted on two others as Andover beat Lowell 3-0 on Monday. Brianna Smith, Brenna Keefe and Julia LeBlanc each added individual goals for the winners.


Krekorian, Warriors roll

Brett Krekorian took a 1-up victory as Andover rolled over Lowell 17-3 last Tuesday, Sept. 24. Nick Scarpa added a 2-up win while Colleen Caveney, Hunter Guidboni and Mark Nardone added victories for the Golden Warriors.


Aruri runs to second

Leila Aruri ran to second place overall in 19:18 for Andover, which beat Lawrence 15-49 but fell to Lowell 22-36 last Wednesday, Sept. 25. Also for the Golden Warriors, Sarah Rothman (20:10) was seventh and Chantel Kellerd (20:38) was 10th.


Galat takes fourth

Max Galat placed a team-best fourth overall as Andover beat Lawrence 19-44, but lost to Lowell 18-45 last Wednesday, Sept. 25. Alex Bensley (11th), Robert Perry (12th) and Robert Pineault (13th) were next in for the Golden Warriors.
