With lobster prices low, the head chef at the Andover Senior Center was able to offer lots of side dishes at this year's lobster dinner for seniors.

The popular dinner was held Saturday, July 21, at the center. For $18, diners enjoyed a 1-1/4-pound lobster, corn on the cob, coleslaw, pasta salad, watermelon and strawberry shortcake. Hometown Seafoods of Andover handled the lobster order while the center's head chef, Frank Melendez, steamed the lobsters. About 50 local seniors enjoyed the dinner.

"This event is popular," Melendez said. "They love it and it's one our best events."

For photos from the event, see the July 26, 2012 print edition of the Townsman.
