Irish Revue returns for St. Patrick's Day

Andover's Garvey set to host annual radio show

The Andover Townsman

---- — Andover native Tom Garvey will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in style again on Monday, March 17, with his annual Irish music program on radio station WCCM 1110-AM.

This year marks the 28th anniversary of Garvey’s musical Irish Revue, produced by WCCM staff member Bruce Arnold.

The program starts at noon and will feature four hours of traditional Irish music, songs and remembrances. It will be streaming on as well.

There will be a toll-free number to phone in requests. In previous years, calls have come from listeners as far away as Ireland, England and Australia, and there was an interview with one of the marching units celebrating the feast of St. Patrick along Fifth Avenue in New York one year, according to Garvey.

Garvey has been inducted into the Traditional Irish Musicians Association Hall of Fame (Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann). He has also been honored for his efforts promoting Irish traditional music over the years.
