Rainbow Warriors: Teammates take over downtown

Soccer plays take scavenger hunt downtown

Downtown Andover was overrun with colorful costumed characters well in advance of Halloween this year.

The Andover High School girls’ varsity and junior varsity soccer teams held their third annual Amazing Scavenger Hunt last Thursday afternoon. More than 40 soccer players formed eight teams and invaded downtown Andover dressed in wild costumes in search of the 12 destinations to conquer.

Each team had to solve 12 clues in order to find the destinations or items and take a fun or interesting team photo at the spot as proof before moving on. The winner — the team with the most points — will be announced at the soccer banquet in November.

The event is held as a mid-season friendly competition among the players as they get ready for the final weeks of games and tournament action.
