Andover skater, club friends take to ice for epilepsy

Andover skater Melissa Lee and her friends Rachel Zeppi and Brianna Coviello from the Skating Club of Boston, are hosting an ice skating exhibition called “Ice Skate for Epilepsy” at the Harrison Rink at Phillips Academy in Andover tonight, Aug. 23 at 6:15.

The show will benefit the Epilepsy Foundation and the non-profit organization “We Are the World Kids” that raises money for the Cambridge School in the Kauk Rovieng Village of the Skun Province in Cambodia, according to Melissa’s mother, Maria Lee.

The performers in this show are trained at the Skating Club of Boston as well as Andover’s own Phillips Academy skating rinks. Melissa Lee will be an Andover High School senior in fall. Rachel Zeppi and Brianna Coviello will attend their final year at Wilmington High School and North Andover High School, respectively.

The cost of the skating show is only $5 per person, but any donations will be welcomed. There will also be raffle baskets as well as a 50/50 raffle, where half the money collected for raffle tickets goes to the charity and half to the raffle winner.
