Members of the Northeast Association of Realtors have elected officers and directors for 2013. Christopher Doherty of Prudential Howe & Doherty Realtors in Andover will be 2013 president.

Doherty has been a member of the Realtor Association since 1974 and has since held many leadership positions within the Association, including as president of the former Greater Lawrence Board of Realtors in 1990, the year in which he was honored as statewide Realtor of the Year, according to a release from NEAR.

Others elected to serve as part of the 2013 NEAR Leadership team include: Treasurer Mary O’Donoghue, also of Prudential Howe & Doherty in Andover; President-elect Joseph Farragher of JPF Real Estate Services in Methuen; First Vice President Ryan Schruender of Real Living Schruender Real Estate in North Andover; and Secretary Linda Gilligan of J. Borstell Real Estate in Tewksbury. Terms for all leaders elected today begin Jan. 1.

Those elected as members of the NEAR Board of Directors for 2013 include Michelle Oates of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Andover.

The Northeast Association of Realtors is one of 1,500 local chapters of the National Association of Realtors. Officially, NEAR covers 15 cities and towns from Boxford to Littleton, though it has members from more than 50 cities and towns in the Merrimack and Nashoba valleys as well as southern New Hampshire. NEAR has more than 1,200 Realtor members and more than 200 affiliate members.
