Fabulous Fall Crafts Fair: Stop by the Center between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. to purchase beautiful autumn crafts made by our "crafty" volunteers. Wreathes, arrangements and more! Mark your calendar now for our Holly Jolly Holiday Fair on Dec. 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. We are gratefully accepting donations now of gently used jewelry and holiday craft materials.

Medicare Health Plan Options: Friday, Nov. 6 at 9:30 a.m. Explanation of Medicare, Medigap, drug plans in advance of annual election period. Come with your questions. Light refreshment. Call to reserve your space.

Computer User's Group: Mondays, Nov. 9 and Dec. 14. This monthly group is hosted by Memorial Hall Library and meets in the lower level activity room. Newcomers how are regular computer users are welcome. Free.

Continuing "Facing Fear: Franklin & Eleanor Roosevelt Take on the Depression": Mondays, Nov. 9 and 16 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. $3/class, Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal initiated programs designed to combat unemployment, repair a broken economic system, and restore the nation's confidence in itself. Mrs. Roosevelt, dubbed "Eleanor Everywhere" by the press, traveled the country and reported to the president what she had observed. Join Don Robb in an interactive exploration of the Roosevelts and their campaign on behalf of the "forgotten man". Compare and contrast those days with our own.

Fuel Assistance Forum: Friday, Nov. 13, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Appointments necessary. Proof of income and pre-registration is required. Education of this program as well as assistance with application process will be provided for this federally funded program that assists with the cost of heating during the winter season.

Men's Breakfast: Friday, Nov. 20, 8:30 a.m., $4 advance registration necessary for "54th Regiment Re-enactment." Join us for this hearty breakfast and a chance to view the Mass. 54th when they came to Andover to film this re-enactment. Have fun seeing sites you recognize and maybe a few familiar faces as well.

"Write Stuff" Writing Group: Meets weekly, Tuesdays At 10 a.m. Accepting new members for this interactive group. Only a desire to write required. New group facilitator Chris Young, seasoned journalist and Andover resident.

Outdoor Adventures for Women: Bakers Meadow Hike, Nov. 17, from 9 a.m. to noon, difficulty level 3. Carpool from the Senior Center, leaving at 9 a.m. and returning by noon. Enjoy a three to four mile hike through Andover woodlands, ponds and meadows while viewing bird life and beaver activity. We will connect three AVIS properties: Bakers Meadow, West Parish Meadow and Indian Ridge. This is a moderate hike with some uphill and uneven footing. Call to hold a spot

Registration begins Nov. 16 for winter term: Aerobics, strength training, tap dancing, Tai chi and more - mark your calendar and check our Web site www.andoversenior center.org for offerings.

Lunch Box Café: Our deli-style café is open for lunch Monday through Friday for reasonably priced wraps, hot Panini, freshly made salads, and daily specials. All priced under $5. Call ahead and we'll have it ready.

Thanksgiving Pie Sale:¬ Order your homemade Thanksgiving pies from us.¬ Ten inch apple, pumpkin and mince pies will be baked at the center and available for pick-up either Nov. 24 or Nov. 25.¬ All pies must be pre-ordered and paid for by Nov. 13.¬ Cost is $10 per pie.

Special Holiday Bereavement Group: Monday, Dec. 7 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. "Coping with the Holidays" a special bereavement support group for the holiday season, led by Lois Marra, Grief Counselor and Educator from Merrimack Valley Hospice. This is a free confidential group to share your thoughts and concerns. No group in November. Regular meetings will resume on the 4th Thursday of the month starting in January. Free Blood Pressure clinic: The Andover Board of Health holds a free blood pressure and wellness clinic at the center every Wednesday from 2 to 3 p.m.. The clinic is open to all Andover seniors on a first come, first served basis.

Snow Policy: When Andover Public Schools are closed for weather related issues, the center is also closed for all programs, lunch and meals on wheels.¬ Call our info line at 978-623-8377 for specific classes which may be affected by weather.
