Senior center activities

The Andover Senior Center, located at 30 Whittier Court, on the first floor of the School Administration Building, is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration is required for all events, which are open to community, pending space. For more information, visit andoverseniorcenter.org or call 978-623-8321.

ADVENTURES IN RETIREMENT: “Paris to Normandy by Boat,” Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 10 a.m. $3, includes light refreshments. Evelyn and Al Retelle share their photos and memories of an unforgettable trip from Paris to Normandy by river boat.

HIGH TEA AND HISTORY: Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 2 p.m. Free. Secrets of Andover’s Memorial Hall Library and stories about their unique collections. RSVP necessary as space is limited to 32.

MEN’S BREAKFAST: FRENCH RESISTENCE: Friday, Sept. 21 at 8:30 a.m. $4. Speaker: John Katsaros, author of “Code Burgundy: The Long Escape” tells his story of being shot down as a 20-year-old aerial gunner on his 11th mission on a B-17 “Man O’War” over Nazi Germany.

MUSIC FROM THE GASLIGHT ERA: A dinner show on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. $9 by advance ticket only. Enjoy popular music from the early 1900s with John Root, multi-instrumentalist. Menu: Roast beef dinner with all the trimmings.

TECH TALK: Say hello to your cell phone. Monday, Sept. 24 at 1:30 p.m. $3. Learn the basics and features beyond the telephone call. Bring your phone!

COMPUTER 101: Wednesday, Sept. 26 and Oct. 9 at 1:30 p.m. $3. Talk about your expectations for computer use and find out the basics for your first computer. SENIOR CENTER OPEN HOUSE: Friday, Sept. 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free. Join a morning of events as Andover’s center celebrate Senior Center Month. Visit our many groups to see what is of interest to you. All groups welcome new members.
