An engaging helping of Julia

The French Chef paid a special visit to Andover last week, courtesy of Lynne Moulton of Delvena Theatre Company.

Moulton portrayed Child in the live performance on May 14 at Memorial Hall Library. Using a set that resembled the kitchen of “The French Chef” TV show, Moulton offered a glimpse of Child’s life from her privileged childhood in California when she had no interest in food except for eating what the family’s private chef prepared to becoming one of the culinary legends of all time.

Delvena Theatre Company’s past shows at Memorial Hall Library have included “A Christmas Carol,” “Lizzie Borden and the 40 Whacks” and “Where ‘Ya Been, Amelia?” The company was founded in 1992 and has performed at various venues, most often at the Boston Center for the Arts.

The evening included a reception with hors d’oeuvres and a brief meeting of the Friends of Memorial Hall Library.
