High heat for Fire Engine Day

The temperature soared to almost 100 degrees on Tuesday, July 17, and local pre-schoolers had fun keeping cool in the Park thanks to a fire truck hose. It was the annual Fire Engine Day hosted by the Department of Community Services. The Andover Fire Department supplied the truck and expertise.

The annual event has been a summertime treat for families for several years.

The next DCS event in the Park happens Tuesday, July 31. It's Monster Truck Day from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Trucks from the Department of Public Works will be open for viewing and climbing by youth. There will also be a craft center for kids. The cost is $5 per child, ages 1 to 6.
