The Andover Coalition for Education will host its second annual spring fundraiser on Friday, May 18 to support the K-12 fine arts programs in the Andover Public Schools.

Its event, "Zeitgeist," is described as "an evening to immerse oneself in the spirit of the times through the work and melodies of Andover Public School students.

A ticket will include drinks, light dinner and a Jackpot Raffle of $1,000 to one lucky winner.

The event will be held at a private home. Those interested may visit the ACE website for such informaiton.

The school administration established a Fine Arts Task Force this year and it is working to bring more recognition to the artistic talent of Andover students, according to ACE. "As their strategic plan is developed to improve the curriculum K-12, ACE will support those efforts," the organization stated in a release.

As a result of donations by residents, $85,125 was given in grants to the Andover Public Schools in 2011.

ACE partners with the Andover Public Schools "to support innovative systemwide initiatives that will inspire our students to succeed in facing today's global challenges."

ACE is a fund with the Essex County Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Donations are tax deductible.
