Musical group Kid Jazz recently gave the residents of the Wingate Nursing Home a chance to swing to the music of the 1930s and '40s.

Musical group "Kid Jazz" recently had the residents of the Wingate Nursing Home swinging to music of the 1930s and '40s.

This musical group is made up of the LeMieux family including dad, Tom on guitar and his sons, Michael, age 16, on clarinet; Jacob, 14, on the drums; and Adam, 12, playing guitar. Their mom, Mary, is also involved in some numbers, according to the family.

One resident had a particular connection. Anne Zompa, Wingate resident of five years, is the grandmother of Mary Zompa LeMieux, and the great grandmother of the kids as well as a couple of the other LeMieux children, Olivia and Grant, who the family says "are not yet part of their musical family ensemble."

The recent Wingate performance was an especially happy occasion as Anne Zompa is celebrating her 105th birthday this June. Grandparents and Andover residents Joan and Pierre LeMieux and Anita and Lev Zompa were on hand for all the fun.
