Residents will have the opportunity this month to enjoy a variety of programs, from music to movies to games at Memorial Hall Library, 2 North Main St.
Autumn Music Harvest: Performance at Memorial Hall Library on Oct. 16 at 2 p.m., by pianist Joe Reid, mezzo soprano Sara Bielanski and clarinetist Todd Brunel, who will "take you on a musical journey through some of the most beautiful places in the classical and jazz repertoire. The three musicians will boldly cross the threshold from classical music with a program featuring the works of Ives and Copland and into the world of Benny Goodman and Duke Ellington." Memorial Hall Library Game Night: On Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. join a fun night of board games including chess. Bring a game, or play one of the library's.
Free Community Shredding Event: Safely shred confidential documents, and help prevent identity theft at Memorial Hall Library's parking lot on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 9 a.m. to noon (or until the truck is full). Bring a bag or a whole car filled with old files and papers. Staples, paper clips, and folders do not need to be removed. Mobile shredding truck provided by Proshred Springfield.
Monday Movie: On Oct. 24 at 7 p.m., join Memorial Hall Library's monthly movie night for adults. Attend the movie, and enter to win the DVD after watching it. Sponsored by the Friends of Memorial Hall Library.
