Elsa will be on stage. So will her sister, Anna. They'll be in the magical land of Arendelle as the Andover Youth Services theater group — TheatreWorks — performs Disney's "Frozen Jr.'' this weekend on the Doherty Middle School Memorial Auditorium stage. Securing the rights to the show so it could be staged in Andover was especially exciting to the 50 local students from the town's elementary and middle schools who are taking part in the production. "Everyone is very excited to get the rights to this fan favorite,'' said Amy Blanchette, artistic director and choreographer to TheatreWorks. "The music is very moving and the cast is having a blast at rehearsals.'' In addition to the cast, there are numerous Andover High School students and TheatreWorks alumni who help out at rehearsals and will be part of the stage crew, Blanchette said. "Frozen Jr.'' is a story of true love and acceptance between sisters, princesses Anna and Elsa. When faced with danger, the two discover their hidden potential and the powerful bond of sisterhood. Loaded with magic, adventure and plenty of humor, "Frozen Jr.'' is based on the 2018 Broadway musical. Performances will be Nov. 1 and 2 at 7 p.m., and Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 and on sale at Cormier Youth Center and Andover Bookstore. Tickets will also be sold at the door.
