CARL RUSSO PHOTOS: When the rain began falling Friday morning, May 17th., many folks may have feared the 63rd Clown Town was in for a soaking.

Melissa Litton, the lead organizer of this fun and charitable event, said she wasn't worried. "Most of the time we get lucky," Litton said. She was also assured by a weather app that the clouds would hold off.

"The forecasts kept getting better and better," she said. Sure enough, by 6 p.m., the sun was shining on The Park and hundreds of people were enjoying the rides, games, camaraderie and food of Clown Town, which typically raises $50,000 for youth activities, according to Litton.

"We come every year," said Brendan Murray, a lifelong Andover resident. "We look forward to it."
