If you have a tissue box cover crocheted by your grandmother, you have to check out this teen crafter's booth at the upcoming Crafts in the Park as she has put a very hip spin on crocheting.

There are no tissue box covers at Brianna Preston's booth. Rather, she crochets adorable stuffed animals like teddy bears, dinosaurs, bunnies and lambs.

This 17-year-old Andover High School senior crochets every day as she said it relaxes her.

"Crocheting makes me happy," she said as she showed the adorable inventory that will decorate her booth at the May 11 event. "I know it's kind of a grandmother thing but I still like crocheting."

Her prices start at $10 and she does custom orders, like pink dinosaurs and a purple stegosaurus through her website, toneverlandwefly.etsy.com - an unusual website name that describes her mood when she crochets.

"It's my never land and just really makes me happy," she said of her time spent crocheting.

Plenty of customers are happy, too, as she's already sold 362 crocheted stuffed animals and sales keep rising. That means her college savings account is also rising as she'll attend two colleges in the fall in Oklahoma, including a Bible college.

Event coordinator Karen Van Welden-Herman said Brianna is among the 200 crafters at the event. There are 17 crafters from Andover.

"We are excited to have many returning crafters along with a number of new booths," she said. "We always have a good variety of finely made crafts and food items available, literally, something for everyone and this is our 44th year."

Sponsored by Christ Church, Andover, all proceeds support the mission of the church and outreach to service and educational organizations in the local community.

The traditional ragtime band, Dixie Cookbook Band, will be playing.

"Sadly, Pierre LeMieux, who led the Mill City Jazz Band for many, many years, passed away this winter," Van Welden-Herman said. Now called the Dixie Cookbook Band, and led by Dave McMillan, the group consists largely of musicians from the Mill City Jazz Band.
