Members of Raytheon’s employee veteran network (RayVets) participated in a day of service at Ironstone Farm last week.
The farm offers equine therapy for veterans. The Raytheon team assisted in the renovation of a new veteran retreat center that will give veterans who have experienced trauma, as well as their spouses and first-responders, a place to stay while they participate in a two-week clinical equine therapy program, which is run by the Home Base initiative.
Raytheon, Home Base, and Ironstone Farm continue to provide opportunities and services for veterans who are healing from trauma and reintegrating into society. This summer, Home Base will also be holding its annual Run to Home Base event, sponsored by Raytheon. The run, which will take place on Saturday, July 27, raises much needed funds to support veterans and their families and ends with the unforgettable experience of crossing home plate at historic Fenway.
On Friday, more than 20 Raytheon employees participated in the Ironstone work day.
