Reading Cooperative Bank recently announced a grant of $20,000 to Andover Senior Community Friends (ASCF) to help renovate the Andover Senior Center. The newly designed cafe in the Center will be named the Reading Cooperative Bank Café.
This is the bank’s largest grant to the organization to date and will be paid over the next three years in installments. The bank recognizes that the Andover Senior Center is a fundamental part of a strong, healthy and engaged community. The Center provides a myriad of physical and social activities, events, lectures and services. Projections for the next five years show the center will serve more than 40,000 meals annually.
RCB’s donation puts ASCF’s capital campaign at 60 percent of its goal of $500,000 for furniture, fixtures and equipment costs of the renovations. ASCF is the non-profit through which all donations are being made.
RCB continues demonstrating their commitment to community. This most recent grant to the non-profit closely follows their commitment to the business community. In October, RCB committed funds to help businesses directly impacted by the natural gas crisis in Lawrence, North Andover and Andover. RCB is in collaboration with multiple stakeholders, such as the Council on Aging, BHA, Elder Services, private and public foundations, and local businesses and citizens..
