Andover's popular Mother's Day weekend event has been postponed until October.
The Crafts in the Park Committee has announced that their signature event is postponed from Saturday, May 8 until Saturday, Oct. 2.
Traditionally held the day before Mother's Day, organizers said the COVID-19 pandemic, coupled with the event location in The Park and the large size of the event, made it impossible to hold the event this spring.
"The availability and wide distribution of vaccine in the coming months will make it more likely that we can comply with any mandated state and local requirements in October. Vendor applications will be accepted starting in June, 2021. All applicants will be juried," said Karen Van Welden-Herman, Crafts in the Park, Event Coordinator.
The committee is offering a slice of the event — geraniums, which are a top-seller at Crafts in the Park, are available for sale.
"Our beautiful geraniums, annually provided by Konjoian’s Greenhouses and Landscaping in Andover, are now available for sale," Van Welden-Herman said.
For ordering information go to www.christchurchandover.org and click on the link for the geranium sale. Colors available are red, pink and white, all in 4.5" pots. Orders must be received with payment by Friday, May 7. Pick up is Tuesday-Thursday, May 11-13 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Konjoian's Greenhouses, 221 Chandler Road.
Crafts in the Park updates are available on craftsinthepark.com, and on Facebook.
All proceeds will support the mission of Christ Church Andover and their outreach to nonprofit service and educational organizations working in the Merrimack Valley.
