This month’s Bancroft Elementary School Variety Show certainly lived up to its billing — with everything from a unique American Sign Language presentation to a number of talented vocal acts on the program.

The annual show, staged March 5, at the Collins Center for the Performing Arts at Andover High School, raises money for the Bancroft Parent-Teacher Organization and Yearbook Committee.

The show allows everyone who wants to participate a turn in the spotlight, and this year’s assembled acts did not disappoint.

Students danced, played piano, showed off their gymnastics moves and acted out scenes. Others sang, both solo and in small ensembles. Some bands even performed for the audience.

Kristi Call, a member of the school’s PTO, ran the event and said it was a fun evening and a good way to show how talented the Bancroft Elementary student body is.

“Every kid showed courage when they got on the stage and shared their talents with a large audience,” Call said. “The kids worked hard and every act made me smile.”
