The Professional Center for Child Development is hosting an evening of global cuisine, music, and fundraising for children’s programming at its annual Spring Gala Event at Andover Country Club on Friday, May 10.
This year's Gala will honor the fire chiefs of Andover, Lawrence, and North Andover to recognize their heroic response in the wake of 2018's Merrimack Valley Gas explosions.
"Many of our families and staff were directly affected by this tragedy, some being forced from their homes for an extended period," says Julie Palmaccio, member of the board of directors and chairwoman of the Gala Committee. "Our first responders, especially our firefighters, worked tireless to restore a sense of home and community in the wake of this tragedy. They went above and beyond, and this award is just one small way we can thank them for this, and what they do for our children, families and communities every day."
The Gala will feature entertainment from DJ Zati, a silent auction, raffles, "wine pull," photo booth, and music, along with support from presenting sponsor Vogel Vending and ATM.
Proceeds from the Gala will help expand access to therapeutic equipment, make classroom enhancements, and invest in additional professional development for staff.
The Professional Center for Child Development's support services ensure that children of all abilities can remain in a secure environment for learning and growing. It also helps children transition into settings beyond its classrooms; teaches parents and caregivers to be successful advocates for children; and works with public organizations to provide continued community-based support for children with and without special needs.
Tickets are $100 per person or $950 for a hosted table of 10. To purchase tickets, please visit: http://www.theprofessionalcenter.org/spring-gala.html
