The Andover High School Underwater Robotics Team will compete in a national competition at the University of Maryland on Saturday, June 1 and Sunday, June 2.

The 2019 SeaPerch Challenge competition tasks students with building and navigating underwater robots through a series of obstacles.

Two AHS teams - the Orcas and the Sharks - qualified for the national competition and will face off against student teams from across the globe.

The theme of this year's competition course is "Rescue and Recovery." It is inspired by the real-life rescue event of the Thai soccer team in 2018. The competition is sponsored by Raytheon.
